Razer announced the Wolverine V4 line, including the wireless Razer Wolverine V4 Pro and wired Razer Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition, the next generation of esports controllers officially designed for Xbox and PC.
The Wolverine V4 Pro is equipped with high-resolution capacitive thumbstick sensors, four newly designed magnetic swappable back buttons, a removable faceplate, and up to 8,000 Hz polling rate. The new capacitive sensors represent the next evolution of contactless sensor design, offering superior resolution, power efficiency, and resistance to magnetic interference compared to TMR and Hall Effect alternatives, while maintaining drift-resistant performance.
Paired with a 16-bit ADC chip, the sensors register approximately 3,000 steps of movement for smoother tracking, reduced jitter, and higher accuracy. On Xbox Series X|S consoles, the controller provides connectivity at up to 250 Hz. On PC, performance reaches 8,000 Hz HyperPolling—wired or wireless—for up to 32 times more frequent positional reporting than standard controllers and up to 8 times faster than entry-level esports controllers. The Wolverine V4 line achieves sub-1 ms response times, ensuring minimal latency across all inputs.
This controller is damn near perfect – It's everything I loved about the Wolverine V3 taken to the next level. The new back button design is incredibly convenient for creating my perfect layout, the buttons feel as fast and responsive as ever before, and the improved polling rate is exactly what I need to stay ahead of the competition.
Customization and Control
A magnetic design lets gamers swap the four removable back buttons and two claw-grip bumpers in seconds without lifting their thumbs from the sticks. Gamers can mix and match combinations from one to four back buttons.
Razer Pro HyperTriggers delivers two distinct trigger feels in a single controller. Using the back-mounted trigger lock, gamers can toggle between near-instant actuation for FPS gameplay or a full-range analog pull for racing sims. Through Razer Synapse, gamers can set trigger actuation anywhere from 1.3 mm to 8.2 mm.
The controller features reinforced PBT mecha-tactile face buttons, an 8-way floating D-pad for smooth travel and fast actuation, and textured TPU side grips for secure comfort during extended play.
Gamers can create four unique profiles to swap between custom bindings and sensitivity settings. Within those profiles, players can remap any of six mappable multi-function buttons, adjust dead zones from 0% to 15%, and fine-tune trigger actuation.
The Wolverine V4 Pro includes a removable magnetic faceplate that can be personalized or swapped with other designs without tools. The controller comes with six interchangeable thumbstick caps: pre-loaded short concave caps, short convex caps with smooth texture for fast rolling movements, and tall concave microtextured caps for precision aiming.
At Razer, we build for the pros, which means listening to what competitive players actually need to win. The Wolverine V4 line is the result: high-resolution precision, ultra-fast response, and the customization to make it their own, engineered to meet the demands of the world's best.
