Fanatec and Trak Racer, both CORSAIR brands, are bringing an extensive range of new simulation hardware to SimRacing Expo 2026 in Frankfurt. The headline is the first public appearance of Project Obsidian, an all-new steering wheel design targeting launch in 2027. Fanatec is showing the prototype ahead of launch so the sim racing community can see where its next generation of steering wheels is heading and give feedback during continued development. Trak Racer is presenting its expanding range of racing, motorcycle, truck, and flight simulators, including two TRZ motorcycle simulators.
Project Obsidian: a new Fanatec wheel platform
Project Obsidian brings together technologies and design experience developed across generations of Fanatec steering wheels in an all-new platform. A 5-inch, high-resolution color LCD sits beneath a single piece of glass together with the RevLEDs and illumination for the rotary switches, creating a seamless central surface. The wheel also features RGB-backlit buttons and a strong all-aluminum structure.
Project Obsidian is the first Fanatec product designed with SimHub compatibility in mind, with detailed telemetry transferred through USB or Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi feature is primarily for UDP telemetry, which allows maximum compatibility with console games.
SimRacing Expo is an opportunity for us to show where Fanatec is heading, as well as what we have achieved over the past year. Project Obsidian is a good example of that. We know our community has been waiting for a Fanatec wheel like this, so we wanted to show it early, listen to feedback, and be open about the direction we are taking. At the same time, we are continuing to invest across the entire Fanatec ecosystem, with new products and improvements for existing customers.
Formula V3 expands with Oracle Red Bull Racing
Also making its public debut in Frankfurt is the ClubSport Formula V3 Oracle Red Bull Racing, an officially licensed steering wheel inspired by the RB22 Formula 1 car and celebrating 22 years of Red Bull Racing. It follows the popularity of the Formula V2.5-based limited edition released in 2024, and Fanatec is responding to continued demand for another Oracle Red Bull Racing wheel.
Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing driver and three-time F1 Sim Racing world champion Jarno Opmeer unveiled the wheel on stage. It is based on the ClubSport Formula V3 platform and combines a 2.7-inch white OLED display with revised ergonomics and controls. It has a forged carbon finish, including forged carbon components on the preinstalled Podium Advanced Paddle Module, and ends with the distinctive jacquard pattern that runs across the RB22 car.
Fanatec is also announcing an officially licensed Oracle Red Bull Racing version of the ClubSport Formula Cockpit. The cockpit has been used extensively in Formula 1 FanZone and Paddock Club activations and as the official cockpit of the F1 Sim Racing World Championship, and it is now being prepared for public sale. The revised design keeps its authentic Formula-style driving position while improving adjustability, compatibility with third-party peripherals, and practicality for home installation.
Podium Pedals Sport enters the range
SimRacing Expo also marks the launch of Podium Pedals Sport, the most accessible entry into the new Podium Pedals range. The two-pedal configuration features GT-style aluminum pedal plates suitable for both left-foot and right-foot braking, along with the extensive mechanical adjustment of the Podium Pedals platform. The pedals support the upcoming clutch module and the carbon fiber components of Podium Pedals Formula, both of which will be sold separately.
Trak Racer's simulation lineup
Trak Racer is led by two TRZ Motorcycle Simulators. Following the platform's debut in Charlotte earlier this year, TRZ takes a distinctive approach to motorcycle simulation through passive mechanical feedback and a proprietary steering system designed to reproduce natural rider movement.
The lineup also includes two Porsche 91XTR Hybrid Simulators, the BWT Alpine Formula One Team TRA Hybrid Simulator, and the Aston Martin Aramco AMR26 Formula Racing Simulator, all officially licensed. Hot Wheels-branded products include the HW5 Racing Simulator Cockpit, HW3 Compact Racing Simulator Cockpit, and HW2 Racing Simulator Wheel Stand.
Beyond car and motorcycle simulation, Trak Racer is showing the Airbus TR550 Flight Simulator, a dedicated flight cockpit designed around flight simulation ergonomics, and the TRK Truck Driving Simulator, which features a new seat developed specifically for truck simulation. Also on display are a new white version of the TR160 Racing Simulator Cockpit and the heavy-duty TR200 “Tank” Cockpit, which has an exceptionally thick aluminum extrusion profile.
More at the Fanatec stand
New ClubSport GT Cockpit accessories include D-BOX mounting brackets, an approved mounting solution for D-BOX G5 haptic actuators planned for release before the 2026 holiday season, and GT Cockpit Livery Panels for new customization options.
The recently announced ClubSport F1 Racing System makes its European public debut at the Fanatec stand. First revealed at Tokyo Game Show, it pairs the PlayStation-licensed ClubSport DD+ (18 Nm) with an exclusive Formula V3-based steering wheel and a preinstalled Podium Advanced Paddle Module.
Visitors can try Fanatec configurations for PC, PlayStation, and XBOX, including Formula, GT, rally, karting, desk-mounted, and high-end motion simulator setups. The show also features the upcoming PlayStation 5 version of BeamNG.drive ahead of its Early Access release on October 19.
