At Connect 2026, Meta announced updates to its Ray-Ban Display glasses, including new navigation features, video calling via hologram, expanded app experiences, and availability in five new markets with online ordering.

Navigate Hands-Free

The glasses now offer cycling and public transit directions. Users can ask for directions via voice and see turn-by-turn cycling directions or real-time transit departures on the display, keeping their phone in their pocket. This feature launches later this month in the US and Canada.

A new natural navigation mode uses visual landmarks rather than street names for walking directions—instructing users to “turn left at the yellow house” instead of “turn left at Third Street.”

Show Your Face With Hologram

A new Hologram feature lets users create a photorealistic digital version of their face for calls through Meta Ray-Ban Display. After a brief self-capture in the Meta AI app, callers can see the user without needing to prop up a phone or hold it in an awkward position. The hologram is driven by voice, with the model inferring expressions from tone and content. The feature begins rolling out in Early Access on WhatsApp to US users later this fall.

Explore, a new on-glasses app, will let users browse and use a growing selection of experiences built for Meta Ray-Ban Display in both the glasses and Meta AI app.

Capture the Important Moments

Meta Ray-Ban Display is the first consumer device to capture and experience videos in Dolby Atmos, enabling users to record and relive moments in spatial surround sound.

Stay On Top of it All

A more powerful calendar lets users see meeting attendees, accept or decline invites, and join calls directly from their glasses (available in English in the US).

Mirrored notifications will display phone alerts on the glasses screen, with user control over which notifications appear.

Threads for Community Feeds allows users to follow curated community feeds and repost threads directly from their glasses.

Availability and Pricing

Meta Ray-Ban Display is expanding to the UK, Canada, France, Italy, and Germany. Online ordering launches today in the US, Canada, and the UK. In Canada and the UK, retail locations in Vancouver, Toronto, and London open today. Pre-orders begin progressively today in France, Italy, and Germany, with online ordering and retail sales (Paris, Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Munich) starting October 13. Prescription options will be available starting October 13 through Essilor Luxottica optical retail stores in France and Italy, with German availability later in the year.

Technical Specifications

Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses combine a 600×600-pixel full-color monocular display in the right lens with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, open-ear speakers, a six-microphone array, Wi‑Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3. The display has a 20-degree field of view, up to 5,000 nits of brightness, and a maximum 90Hz refresh rate, although content refreshes at 30Hz. The glasses provide up to six hours of mixed-use battery life, while the Meta Neural Band is rated for up to 18 hours and the charging case provides up to 24 additional hours.

The glasses include 32GB of storage, capture still images at 3,024×4,032 pixels and video at 1,440×1,920 pixels at 30 frames per second, and carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating. The Neural Band has an IPX7 rating. Compatibility starts at iOS 15.2 and Android 10.
