Build once, reach users across Search and Gemini

Google is opening a preview of a platform that lets developers plug their apps straight into Gemini and Search, and early partners are already on board. How it works, what users will see, and how brands keep control remain the real story.

Connected Apps in Search and the Gemini app have already made everyday tasks like ordering groceries and making playlists faster. Google is now launching the preview of its Connected Apps Platform, a unified way for more app developers to bring their capabilities directly into Gemini and Search. Google is also rolling out a new set of Connected Apps partners.

Manage Connected Apps with ease

The Connected Apps Platform lets developers build once and reach high-intent users across both Search and the Gemini app. Developers integrate with a cloud-hosted MCP server or Android MCP using the AppFunctions APIs. They then use the Google Connected Console to register, test, and submit their app. Before review, developers choose whether the app will go live in Search, the Gemini app, or both.

After launch, developers can track traffic, latency, and error rates. They also keep control of their brand identity, including verified logos and authenticated accounts. Google says access is opening in phases, and it will add more developers, markets, and Google products over the coming months. Developers can sign up for the preview and find documentation at developers.google.com/connected-apps.

Connect to your favorite tools

Google has launched more than 50 Connected Apps between Search and Gemini, spanning productivity, event ticketing, and health and fitness. Integrations with partners Adobe, Experian, Localiza, and Peloton are already live for users in Gemini. In the coming weeks, Google will bring these Connected Apps to Search as well. Google is also launching a new integration with Calm across both Search and Gemini.

Users can see the full list of available Connected Apps on the help center pages for Search and Gemini.
