The talent war

Anthropic invests $100 million to train 10,000 engineers

Anthropic is betting big on the people who will make enterprise AI work, with a new academy already enrolling major firms. But the push doesn't stop at corporate training: scientists are getting in on the action too, and one call zeroes in on a field where the stakes are personal.

Anthropic is investing $100 million in Claude Frontier Academy to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027. Cohorts from Accenture, Bain, CBA, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk are already underway. The effort addresses the enterprise AI talent gap, and the announcement pairs it with two smaller science programs.

Three Programs in One Announcement

The engineering academy is the largest of the three. It aims to build a pool of Frontier Deployed Engineers, with the goal of 10,000 trained by the end of 2027.

On the science side, Anthropic says that starting today, 10,000 scientists around the world can get Claude at no cost to start. Verified principal investigators qualify for a Claude Team subscription plan. They can then add their research team to Standard seats for free, or to Premium seats for $15 per month, for up to a year.

Anthropic is also sharing a focused call for AI for Science applications centered specifically on rare genetic diseases. Accepted applicants will receive up to $50,000 in Claude credits over six months. The stated goal is to build a community of researchers looking into how AI can reshape our understanding of rare disease.
