Minecraft's Wilderness Bound game drop has landed for Nintendo Switch, introducing a new rust-toned forest biome, a mysterious structure, the cushion, a new way to skip the night, and additional features.

New Biome: The Dappled Forest

The dappled forest is full of red shrubs and poplar trees in autumnal colors, offering an atmospheric and cozy place to explore and set up camp. Players can climb bouncy shelf mushrooms to scout the area and build shelters using the new poplar wood set. The biome may also contain a mysterious new structure.

New Structure: The Abandoned Camp

Hidden among the forest biomes is the abandoned camp structure. Located among rusty poplar trees, the structure features an empty tent, straw beds, cushions, and a campfire, along with loot.

New Feature: The Cushion

For the first time in Minecraft, players can now sit down using the cushion. This furniture piece can be used for decoration or rest—around a campfire, at a festive dinner, or while taking in scenery. Cushions can be found in abandoned camps or crafted using three wool slabs of the same color.

Skip the Night with the Straw Bed

Straw beds are consumable blocks that allow players to skip the night without resetting their respawn point. This feature is useful for avoiding hostile mobs during extended expeditions or for simply sleeping under the stars. Straw beds can be found in abandoned camps or crafted using three hay bales.

New Blocks: Poplar Wood Set, Wool and Concrete Slabs and Stairs

Wilderness Bound adds a full poplar wood set with warm-grey tones, including decorative herringbone doors and trapdoors. Players can also craft wool slabs and stairs in all 16 colors, or colorful concrete slabs and stairs to add variety to their builds.
