Google Maps has three features for choosing where to eat: Ask Maps for natural-language searches and delivery ordering, dining lists updated weekly in the Explore tab, and community tips on each restaurant's page.
These features cover the whole outing, from finding a dish you're craving to snagging a reservation and parking.
Key Features at a Glance
- Ask Maps: Type or say a request such as “fall dessert spots with outdoor seating.” It analyzes billions of photos, reviews, and menus to find matches, and you can order delivery through partners like Uber Eats, Toast, and Square.
- Trending dining lists: The Explore tab's lists are updated weekly. The ๐ฅ Trending list shows places that have recently spiked in popularity, the ๐ Gems list shows new neighborhood favorites, and the ๐ Top list shows tried-and-true classics.
- Save to your bucket list: Save any list place with a tap to build a list of restaurants to try.
- “Know before you go” tips: When you search for restaurants, cafes, diners, and more, scroll down for insider tips from the Maps community on how to get a coveted reservation, where to park, and what dishes to order.
