The turn-based RPG Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, currently available on Xbox Series X|S, will launch on Xbox and PC on November 18, 2026, with Xbox Play Anywhere support. This will allow players to enjoy the game on Xbox Series X|S, Windows 11 PCs, and compatible handheld gaming devices at no additional cost, with all save data, achievements, and additional content carrying over seamlessly across devices.

The release marks the celebration of the Monster Hunter Stories franchise's 10th anniversary on October 8. To commemorate the occasion, Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be available for free trial on Xbox from October 22 through October 25, 2026, with a three-hour timed trial requiring no Xbox Game Pass membership.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is a turn-based RPG set in the Monster Hunter world. The story follows the prince or princess of Azuria, the only Rathalos Rider in the country, and Eleanor, the princess of Vermeil, as they embark on a journey to uncover the truth of the world. Set in two countries on a path to destruction, the narrative centers on twin Rathalos bearing the Skyscale marking—a symbol connected to a disastrous civil war from 200 years prior—as countless monster species face extinction and the flames of war rekindle.

After making a historic discovery, the protagonist sets out to learn more about various situations unfolding across the world. The game features evolving turn-based battles and Habitat Restoration, which allows players to release monsters back into the wild and change their Ecosystem rank.

After completing the main story, players can update the game and load their cleared save data to face a high-difficulty version of the final boss battle. Defeating this challenge unlocks Royal versions of nearly all monsters throughout various areas of the map, along with Royal Invasive Monsters and Royal Calamitous Elder Dragons, offering highly challenging battles.

DLC and Free Trial

The DLC Side Story: Rudy is available now, included in the Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition, and Deluxe Kit at no additional cost. The story follows Rudy, a Royal Palico who travels alongside the protagonist.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection offers a free trial version that allows players to carry their progress over to the full game.

The Monster Hunter Stories Series

Monster Hunter Stories follows a protagonist raised in a village of Riders who encounter a world of Hunters. As an ominous shadow known as the Black Blight—a calamity that drives monsters into a frenzy—spreads globally, Riders and Hunters are tested as they draw closer to the truth of Redan's Legacy, which contains the origins of the Riders.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is set in a world where all Rathalos have mysteriously flown away. The protagonist, a descendant of the great Rider Redan, encounters a young Wyverian girl named Ena who entrusts them with an egg. When the Rathalos hatches, its wings are black as legend foretold, revealing it to be Razewing Ratha. The protagonists embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind the mysterious events and the legend itself.
