Spec IV Part 1: New Cars and Content

Spec IV Part 1 targets players who want to chase lap times, explore automotive history, take photos, build a collection, or just find something new to drive. Along with the six new vehicles and the Sportsland Sugo circuit, the update adds six new World Circuit events. Internet connection is required to receive the update, and credits, earned through gameplay or purchased, are required to buy vehicles.

The headline car is the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, an electric hypercar shaped by the wind. Its teardrop-shaped cockpit sits inside a body with cutouts and air ducts that form aerodynamic channels. The signature halo-shaped taillight doubles as a visual icon and a large air outlet. Active Wake Control System and Accretion Rims help the car reach a drag coefficient of 0.29, downforce of -1.2, and an aerodynamic efficiency rating of 4.1, developed through iterative simulated testing. Xiaomi Auto Design Head Tianyuan Li described the central trade-off:

Do we pursue extreme low drag for straight-line speed, or maximum downforce to conquer corners? The optimal solution lies in finding the perfect balance between the two.

— Tianyuan Li, Xiaomi Auto Design Head

Gran Turismo Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi said,

When I saw that Xiaomi had resolved the contradiction between low drag and high downforce, I was truly amazed.

— Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo Series Producer

Players can try it at Spa-Francorchamps in the Vision Gran Turismo Trophy event.

Attribute Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo
Drag coefficient 0.29
Downforce -1.2
Aerodynamic efficiency rating 4.1

The Ferrari F355 Berlinetta '94 carries on the lineage of Ferrari's midship sports cars. Its body is by Pininfarina, and the car refines the square lines of the 348 into a balance of aerodynamic performance and beauty. Players can test its balance and responsiveness on the flowing corners and elevation changes of Sportsland Sugo.

The Honda Civic Si Group A version '87 is based on the Mugen Motul Civic, which won the overall class victory at the 1987 All-Japan Touring Car Championship. That car was developed from the twin-cam ‘Si' model that joined the 3rd generation Civic line-up in 1984. The Si was the first Honda production car in 20 years to use a DOHC engine, and Mugen refined the platform through racing before supplying private teams with parts. Players can take it into one of the new Sunday Cup events.

The Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo '26 continues Mazda's rotary heritage, which dates back to the ‘Cosmo Sport' in 1967. The GT3 CONCEPT revived the 4-rotor engine in the spirit of the 787B, which won Le Mans, and paired it with the latest SKYACTIV technology. This version is further refined for competition. It is suited to World Touring Car events, where every apex can shave time off a lap.

The Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line '23 is a family minivan, a segment the Step WGN has served since its first appearance in 1996, known for interior space, square form, a low floor, and large sliding doors. The Spada adds a wider, sturdier front grille and chromed body moulding, and the Premium Line adds platinum chrome accents. Load it into Scapes to see how photogenic it can be.

The Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston '86 closes the list. The 2 CV was produced for 42 years after its 1948 release. Its design was so simple it was called an umbrella with wheels, yet its flexible suspension let it carry eggs over rough terrain, and its affordable price and roomy interior made it practical for long trips. Players can take a slow drive around Sportsland Sugo and enjoy the trip rather than the race.
